What Highway Traffic is

Highway Traffic is a driving game built in Unity in which you race along a busy highway and weave between the other cars without colliding with them. The build itself names FreezeNova as the company, and the game is listed on Yandex Games under the publisher name JulGames. The goal on every run is the same: keep your speed high, find the gaps in the traffic and collect as many points as you can.

Before you drive, you choose a game mode, a stage and a car. You can start with the first car or buy a different one on the Select Car screen.

The game files also contain on-screen accelerator and brake pedals for touch screens, but the Yandex listing marks the game as made for desktop, so a keyboard is the intended way to play.

Modes and stages

The Select Mode screen offers four modes: One Way, Two Way, Time Attack and Speed Bomb. Time Attack is played against a Time Left counter, and Speed Bomb puts a Bomb Health meter on the screen. The game can also flash a Wrong Way warning while you drive.

After the mode, the Select Stage screen gives three weather options: Sunny, Night and Rainy.

Cars and settings

Each car on the Select Car screen is rated for Speed, Handling and Brake, so you can compare them before you buy one. A settings menu lets you set graphics to Low, Medium or High and switch image effects and road reflections on or off. The menus are translated into several languages, including German, French, Turkish and Indonesian.

How scoring works

During a run the screen tracks your score, distance and combo, and flags moments of high speed. When the run ends, the results screen breaks your score into separate lines: total distance, near misses, keeping above 100 km/h, and driving in the opposite direction. The game records your best score, and the Yandex version also submits it to a leaderboard.

Tips

Near misses and staying above 100 km/h each get their own line in the results, so close passes at full speed are where the bigger scores come from.
Check the Speed, Handling and Brake ratings side by side before you spend on a new car.
If the game stutters, drop the graphics to Low or turn off road reflections and image effects.
