Cribbage unblocked: play Cribbage online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

This Cribbage page loads Cribbage Online from cribbage-online.net, a site run by Unwind Media. It is the classic two-player card game, played one on one against a computer opponent, with a pegging board drawn beside the cards. The site adds a few teaching tools on top of the normal game, which makes it a good place to learn as well as to play.

Starting a game

Pick a difficulty first: Easy, Standard or Pro. You then click one card from the spread, and whoever holds the lower card gets the first crib. Everything after that is done by clicking or dragging cards with the mouse, or by tapping them on a touch screen.

How a hand works

  1. Discard to the crib. You are dealt six cards. Drag two of them into the crib area and press Confirm Crib Cards. The crib belongs to the dealer, and the two of you swap that role every round.
  2. The starter. A card is turned up from the deck. If it is a jack, the dealer pegs 2 points straight away.
  3. Pegging. You take turns laying cards and the running count is shown on screen. Face cards count ten and aces one. Hitting 15 or 31 scores 2, runs of three or more score one point per card, and if you cannot play without going past 31 you press the GO button so your opponent can carry on.
  4. The show. Each hand is then counted together with the starter card, and the dealer also counts the crib. A bubble lists every scoring combination, such as "15 for 2" or "Run of 3 for 3".

The first player to reach 121 points wins. Finishing far enough ahead of the opponent is marked as a skunk on the results screen.

Teaching tools

  • Hint suggests a play, or tells you that no single best play exists.
  • A warning appears when your discard is not the best one. It shows the average round score of your choice against the best available one, and lets you try again, see the scores for every option, or keep your cards anyway.
  • The Discard Analyzer lets you enter any six-card hand and see which two cards are best to throw.
  • Settings let you count your own hand scores by hand, turn on muggins, switch hints and suboptimal warnings on or off, speed up counting and change the board and card colours.

Statistics

The Statistics screen keeps games played, wins, losses, skunk wins and win percentage for each difficulty, plus your average pegging, hand and crib scores and a daily play streak. After a game, the summary also lists any suboptimal discards you made.

Tips

  • Play a few games on Easy with warnings switched on. The average-score numbers show quickly why some discards are stronger than others.
  • Remember who owns the crib. Points you throw into your own crib still count for you, while points thrown into your opponent's crib are a gift.

Questions about Cribbage

Is Cribbage unblocked at school?

Cribbage runs in an ordinary browser tab from crossyroad.me, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

Who runs this Cribbage game?

The game is Cribbage Online from cribbage-online.net, a site run by Unwind Media, and you play it against a computer opponent.

What difficulty levels are there?

You choose between Easy, Standard and Pro before each game, and the Statistics screen tracks your results for each level separately.

How many points do you need to win?

The first player to reach 121 points wins the game. A win by a wide margin is shown as a skunk.

Can the game help me choose my discards?

Yes. The Hint button suggests plays, a warning appears for a weaker discard, and the Discard Analyzer works out the best two cards to throw from any six-card hand.
